Deconstruction and demolition

What do deconstruction and demolition involve?

Deconstruction and demolition work involves the dismantling of building structures. Some of the work is carried out by dismantling only selected structural elements of the building, without disturbing the entire building structure. The work performed also involves the removal of elements left over from the geotechnical work, prior to further construction work. In this case, concrete pile heads or diaphragm wall crenelations, for example, are removed.

What is the difference between deconstruction and demolition?

Demolition involves completely dismantling the structure. No structural elements are retained. All that remains of the demolition is rubble.

Deconstruction of a structure involves work to partially dismantle it. Deconstruction may involve part of the structure or just the structural elements, such as walls. Importantly, delicate methods are used during deconstruction to allow further use of the elements.

What equipment and technologies are used to perform deconstruction?

Deconstruction and demolition The work is mainly carried out with specialized demolition robots, which are small in size and remotely controlled. Various types of manual equipment, hydraulic wedges and tools based on diamond techniques are also used as supplements.

The choice of appropriate technology and equipment depends on a number of factors. Prior to making the selection, the scope of the work, the time to carry it out, the accuracy and precision, as well as job safety are analyzed.

Scope of work for deconstruction and demolition

Deconstruction and demolition work includes:

  • removal of pile heads
  • removal of crenelations of diaphragm walls
  • dismantling and removal of all reinforced concrete, concrete, brick and stone elements
  • removal of floors, tearing off stone and ceramic claddings, scraping off plaster
  • dismantling of windows and doors
  • demolition of load-bearing and partition walls
  • comprehensive demolition of buildings: those in poor technical condition, reinforced concrete multi-story buildings, brick or steel structures
  • specialized demolition of masonry and reinforced concrete smoke stacks
  • dismantling work with production running

We accept both small orders for individual clients, as well as participate in large projects of strategic national importance.
